Keep Tax Rates Low
Fiscal Responsibility
- During my 12 years on council we have managed to wean ourselves off of being dependant on using casino funds for operational costs. Since dropping this dependence, we have been able to deliver quality services while keeping the tax rate low. At the same time we have taken on large infrastructure projects with minimal impact to the tax rate itself. I will continue to be vigilant in delivering the best possible budget, staying mindful of the impact on residents.
As a small township, we have to be creative and strategic with how we spend our funds for the short term and the long term. The largest source of revenue for the township is obviously you, the residents. Keeping tax rates low has always been priority, while still delivering the high quality of services that you expect from your Township.
Commitments:
Maintain well funded reserves for future generations
Maintain annual asset replacement funding to ensure taxpayers are not hit with surprises down the road
Minimize longterm debt
Keep annual tax increases predictable and and inline with Inflation
