About Ryan
First and foremost, I want to thank the residents of Cavan Monaghan for the honour and privilege of serving you over the past 12 years on Council, including the last four years as your Deputy Mayor.
My family and I chose to make our home in Cavan Monaghan because of the incredible quality of life this community offers. My sons began their education at Millbrook/South Cavan Public School and later moved on to the Crestwood schools, and now on to University. Like so many families, we are invested in the future of this community and want to ensure it remains a place where future generations can live, work, raise a family, and thrive.
I first became involved in municipal politics because I fell in love with this community and wanted to make a meaningful contribution. Over the years I have had the opportunity to meet countless residents, volunteers, business owners, community organizations, and local leaders who share a deep commitment to making Cavan Monaghan the best it can be. Those relationships have shaped my understanding of what matters most to our residents and have reinforced my belief that strong communities are built through collaboration, respect, and service.
As a member of Council, I have always believed that our responsibility extends beyond ward boundaries. Every decision made at the Council table has the potential to affect residents across the entire Township. Whether the issue is growth, infrastructure, recreation, housing, economic development, or financial stewardship, it is important to consider the broader impact on our community as a whole.
Over the past 12 years, our Council has faced significant opportunities and challenges. Together, we have navigated growth, made important investments in infrastructure and community services, strengthened our financial position, and continued to build a Township that we can all be proud of. Through these experiences, I have gained valuable knowledge about municipal governance, working with partner agencies, advocating for residents, and balancing the diverse needs of a growing community.
Most importantly, I have learned from you—the residents of Cavan Monaghan. Listening to your concerns, ideas, and aspirations has always been at the heart of my approach to public service.
I remain committed to providing responsible leadership, fiscal accountability, and thoughtful decision-making as our community continues to grow. I am proud of what we have accomplished together, and I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
Together, we can continue building a strong, vibrant, and prosperous Cavan Monaghan for generations to come.
PUTTING MY SKILLS TO USE
Over the past 30 years, I have built a career in the Information Technology industry, helping organizations solve complex challenges through collaboration, strategic planning, and accountability.
My work has brought together people from diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and areas of expertise to develop solutions for some of government and industry's most demanding technology initiatives. Success in these environments requires listening carefully, keeping an open mind, understanding different viewpoints, and finding common ground to move forward together.
Throughout my career, I have been responsible for balancing priorities, managing risk, ensuring accountability, and delivering results. These experiences have reinforced the importance of thoughtful decision-making, transparency, and responsible stewardship of resources.
I have carried these values and skills into municipal government. As a member of Council and now as Deputy Mayor, I work collaboratively with residents, fellow Council members, staff, community organizations, businesses, and partner agencies to help build practical, sustainable, and long-term solutions for Cavan Monaghan.
As our community continues to grow and evolve, I remain committed to bringing people together, listening to residents, and making decisions that support a strong and prosperous future for everyone who calls Cavan Monaghan home.
