Over the past 12 years, I have been a part of 3 Councils that have worked together to position Cavan Monaghan for the future. We have managed significant growth, strengthened long-term financial planning, invested in infrastructure and community facilities, developed a new Strategic Plan, enhanced public engagement, and laid the groundwork for continued economic development. While there is still much work to do, we have built a strong foundation that will help our Township remain financially sustainable, vibrant, and welcoming for generations to come

Fiscal Responsibility & Financial Stewardship

• Maintained a strong focus on responsible budgeting and long-term financial sustainability.

  • Averaged a 3.1% annual tax increase over the last 4 years while for the same period the Canadian inflation rate averaged 3.8%

• Continued building reserves and long-term funding strategies for roads, facilities, and municipal assets.

  •  Invested ~$13M in future Asset Reserves

• Focused on growing the Township's assessment base to support services while managing tax pressures.

  • Residential base in Cavan Monaghan grew from $1.29B in 2022 to $1.39B in 2026

 

Roads, Infrastructure & Public Works

• Continued investment in road rehabilitation and maintenance.

  • Road Maintenance - $20.5M over term

• Advanced long-term infrastructure planning to support a growing population.

  • Fire and Ambulance Station - $8.0M

  • Cavan Public Works Ops Centre - $3.5M

  • Parks and Public Works Millbrook Depot - $872K

• Supported sustainable infrastructure development through strategic planning initiatives

• Completed the Vision 2035 Parks and Recreation planning process to identify future recreation needs.

• Preservation of our Historical landmarks such as Mill, Dam and Pond in Millbrook for future generations to enjoy

• Planned designed and built the Cavan Monaghan Community Center

• Over 400 (and counting) new homes in the township 

​

• Built upon our festivals and fantastic community events working with the Millbrook Business Improvement Area we have added large scale Spring and Fall events to the calendar   ​​​​​​​​​

• Established new initiatives to help local businesses and revitalize the municipality 

  • Initiated the Millbrook Community Improvement Plan which  saw public and private dollars combined to enhanced building facades and helped establish sidewalk patios
